We are an importer specialising in minimal intervention wines from Austria and its neighbouring countries. We work with a new generation of producers dedicated to making terroir-driven wines from indigenous varieties. Our winemakers work organically and biodynamically, preferring to spend their time in the vineyards rather than the cellar. Above all, we look for wines that are honest, distinctive and delicious.

Hannes Schuster

The Rosi Schuster estate was founded in 1979. In 2005, Rosi’s son Hannes slowly began to take over the winery, working organically in the vineyards and steering the estate in a more natural direction. Hannes tends 11 hectares of vines just a few miles west of Lake Neusiedlersee in Burgenland. His parcels are scattered around the villages of Sankt Margarethen, Rust and Zagersdorf where the soils are diverse and varied, ranging from heavy loam and sandstone to gravel and limestone. Many of the vines growing here are 60+ years old. The Schuster winery is particularly well known in Austria for its complex and distinctive expressions of St. Laurent and Blaufränkisch. Hannes only uses old wooden vessels and steel fermenters in the cellar to emphasise purity of fruit and bring out the terroir-driven character of his wines. Regionality and authenticity are very much at the heart of his winemaking practices.
